Westio tournaments in brief

Tournaments add a leaderboard to the slots you already play. At Westio you opt in, play qualifying games, and earn points that rank you against other players. When the clock runs out, the top places share a prize pool. There’s no buy-in and no separate entry fee, so the only money involved is what you’d normally stake.

High Noon Daily£1,000Every dayTop 100
Gold Rush Weekly£10,000 + 5,000 free spinsMonday to SundaySee tournament card
Frontier Cup£25,000MonthlySee tournament card

The exact prize split and qualifying slots are shown on each tournament card in the Westio Tournaments tab. Studios change from event to event, so a week might feature Hacksaw Gaming titles like Le Bandit and Stormforged, and the next might focus on Penguin King Hold & Win games.

The three Westio tournaments

High Noon Daily

The daily race is the easiest way to try tournaments. It resets every day, has a £1,000 prize pool and pays the top 100 places, which spreads prizes more widely than most leaderboards. Because it’s short, you can see where you stand within a single session.

Gold Rush Weekly

Gold Rush Weekly runs from Monday to Sunday with £10,000 in cash plus 5,000 free spins. A week is long enough that steady players can climb the table, but the top spots tend to go to people who play a lot. Free-spin prizes come with the terms printed on the card, including any wagering, which never exceeds 10x on UK accounts.

Frontier Cup

The Frontier Cup is Westio’s monthly showpiece, with a £25,000 prize pool. It often uses a mix of formats across the month, so read the rules carefully before you join. This is the tournament where it’s most tempting to over-stretch, so set your budget first.

How points work

Westio uses two main scoring formats. The format is printed on the tournament card.

Points per £1 wagered

You earn points for every £1 you stake on qualifying slots. A £1 spin earns the same as two 50p spins, so the player who stakes the most generally wins. This format rewards volume, which is exactly why it needs a firm budget.

Biggest single-spin multiplier

Here your score is your best win divided by your stake on a single spin. A £0.20 spin that pays £40 is a 200x multiplier and beats a £5 spin that pays £500 (100x). This levels the field for low-stakes players, because the size of your bet doesn’t matter, only the multiplier.

FormatWhat countsWho it suits

Biggest multiplierBest win ÷ stake on one spinLow-stakes players and casual sessions

Remember the UK rules apply throughout: a maximum stake of £5 per spin (£2 if you’re aged 18–24), no autoplay, no turbo spin and a minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin. Bonus buys aren’t available, so every player climbs the leaderboard the same way.

How to join a Westio tournament

  1. Log in to your Westio account. Our Westio login guide helps if you’re stuck.
  2. Open the Tournaments tab from the main menu.
  3. Choose a tournament and read the card: format, qualifying games, dates and prize table.
  4. Tap Opt in. There’s no buy-in.
  5. Play a qualifying slot. Your points appear on the live leaderboard.
  6. When the event ends, results are confirmed and prizes are credited to your account.

If you play before opting in, those spins won’t count. It’s the most common reason players ask why they’re missing from the board.

A worked example: two players, two formats

To see how much the format matters, picture two Westio players with very different habits.

Player A has a £50 budget for the evening and spins at £0.20. Over a two-hour session that’s roughly £200 of total stakes once small wins are recycled. In a points-per-£1 race, Player A earns about 200 points. A player staking £2 a spin for the same time could easily pass 2,000 points, so Player A is unlikely to reach the paid places in Gold Rush Weekly.

Player B has the same £50 and the same £0.20 stake, but joins a multiplier round instead. A single bonus round that pays £60 from a £0.20 spin is a 300x multiplier. That beats a £5 spin that pays £1,000, which is only 200x. Player B now has a genuine shot at a prize without staking more.

The lesson isn’t that one format is better. It’s that you should choose the event that matches the way you already play, rather than changing your stakes to suit the event.

Tournament rules worth reading

Every Westio tournament card lists its own terms. These are the points we’d always check:

  • Qualifying games: only listed slots earn points. Live casino, table games and the sportsbook don’t usually count.
  • Minimum stake: some events only count spins above a set stake, such as £0.20.
  • Tie-breaks: if two players finish on the same score, the earlier one to reach it usually ranks higher.
  • Prize terms: cash prizes and free-spin prizes may come with different conditions. Free-spin winnings are capped at 10x wagering on UK accounts.
  • Verification: you must be verified to receive prizes, so finish any outstanding checks before the event ends.

Our tips for tournament play

  • Pick the right format. On a small budget, multiplier races give you a genuine chance; points-per-£1 races mostly reward big spenders.
  • Play the slots you’d choose anyway. Don’t switch to a game you dislike just because it qualifies. Our slots guide covers the lobby.
  • Check the volatility. Multiplier events favour high-volatility games where rare big hits are possible, but they also mean longer losing spells.
  • Check the end time. Daily races reset at a fixed time shown on the card. Missing the cut-off by a minute is frustrating.
  • Don’t chase the leaderboard. If you’re 20 places off a prize, extra deposits rarely change that, and they can turn fun into pressure.

Tournaments and the rest of the Westio rewards

Tournament play also earns Sheriff’s Star Club points, so regular players progress through the VIP ranks as they go; see our VIP guide. Net losses from tournament sessions count towards the 10% weekly cashback, explained on our promotions page.

Responsible tournament play

Leaderboards are designed to be competitive, and that’s exactly why they need limits. A countdown clock and a rival a few points ahead can push you to play longer than you planned.

!Set limits before you opt in

Use Westio’s deposit limits, loss limits and reality checks in Account → Safer Gambling. Decreases to limits take effect immediately; increases only apply after a 24-hour cooling-off period.

If you notice you’re depositing to stay on the leaderboard, step away. Westio offers time-outs from 24 hours to 6 weeks and self-exclusion from 6 months to 5 years, and it honours GAMSTOP. Our responsible gambling guide lists the tools and free support services, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Questions players ask

Do Westio tournaments cost anything to enter?

+

No. There is no buy-in for any Westio tournament. You opt in from the Tournaments tab and your qualifying real-money spins earn points from that moment on.

How are tournament points calculated at Westio?

+

It depends on the format. Most races award points per £1 wagered on qualifying slots, while some rounds use the biggest single-spin multiplier, where your best win relative to your stake counts.

Do bonus funds count towards tournament points?

+

Check the rules of each tournament in the Tournaments tab, as qualifying play can vary between events. As a general rule, assume only real-money spins on the listed games count unless the event says otherwise.

How are Westio tournament prizes paid?

+

Prizes are credited to your account after the tournament closes and results are confirmed. Cash prizes and free spins each follow the terms shown on the tournament card, so read those before you play.

Can I play tournaments on my phone?

+

Yes. Westio tournaments run in the mobile browser on iOS and Android just as on desktop, and the live leaderboard shows your position as you play.
